CONFEMADERA is the corporate organization entrusted with the representation, promotion and defence of the professional interests of wood and timber related associations and federations and, subsequently, that of the body of companies in the wood sector. As the sector’s leading representative, the organization aims to promote all activities which encourage competitiveness, the modernization of the industry and the strengthening of its prestige and image in order to secure its position in both the domestic and international market.

Here we should underline the organization’s activities in terms of innovation, quality and the environment, image and design, strategic mergers, training and internationalization.

Many of these activities are, in turn, encompassed within the European Wood Strategy for 2010 (ROADMAP 2010), an initiative by the European wood employers’ association, CEI-Bois, of which CONFEMADERA is an active member, and which consists of an action plan for European wood industries over forth- coming years, with the aim of converting wood into one of the leading materials in construction and interiors.
